Iraq, UN, George Bush & WTB&S Propaganda

  Did anybody else believe that the United Nations was the powerful entity that the WTB&TS tried to attribute it to being? When George Bush was trying to get support from the UN for war with Sadaam, they just pitter patterd around and tried to get Boy George to just, take a chill pill. UN sactions were supposed to be enough for Bush, and to just let the UN do its job. George was like, "Oh Hell No!!!" Went in, kicking ass and taking names. Wasn't going to wait for anyone's permission to pick a fight, with all that happened with September 11.

  During those days, I still believed all the clap trap that the society pushed upon the UN. Being the wild beast and having all this power and authority. Well Boy George blew all those ideas, completely out of the water. I was shocked that he was able to just thumb his nose, and his middle finger at the United Nations, and wage Holy Hell on Iraq, without any permission whatsoever from the UN. Did anyone else believe the the WTB&TS spin on the UN at that time? What is it they believe now? Who holds the cards as the Boogeyman for those in the Watchtower? Remeber Russia and the King of the North & South, science? Who are they trying to fool, now? When are they going to admit. "Hey, we fu%#*d up"?

  I've thought about that, too. Bush's attitude towards the UN seemed to put a whole damper on the "kings of the earth giving up their authority" idea. Even less likely to submit to the will of the UN are all the Islamic nations. It's obvious that as the wild beast, the UN doesn't fit the bill. It's a pointless, corrupt debating society and nothing more.

  Yeah not much power for the UN to function properly.

  I think they need to take away all veto power from the security council members to make it more democratic, and move it out of NY to some other country. That might help alot.

  The UN is about as effective as it's predisessor the League of Nations at what it was designed to do. Which is to say it is pretty much where the US goes to say we rule you all and screw it to the Russians. Much like Britain did with the League of Nations and it's screwing of post world war 1 Germany.

  My reaction was different than yours P. But what you've said has made me reflect on the time that I DID think that the UN was "all that and a bag of chips"
