I've whatched this 3xs and would highly recommend it to all especially to those in the armed forces because of it's high moral value.

To me(PO) I see the plot this way, our humanity's overpowering the state both in mind, and allegence. Bruce Willis's part really displayed the inner turmoil that shear enormity of the cruelty when we put a face on it in human suffering as was done so well in the movie, one must disobey prime directives given by the "state".

I have that movie in my DVD collection. One of my favorites for just the reason you stated. Also good in that vein is Proof of Life.

That is a fantastic movie for sure! I also think a movie that has very good message and certainly made me evaluate things was Kingdom of Heaven. Good for anyone to watch, regardless of religious background, especially in the political climate of late.

tears of the sun, was a movie that should make a person think about life and just what is happening around the earth today. I.e. in Sudan Muslims killing black christians and yet that is never put out in the PC media of today here in the US. I also have this movie in my library and watch it from time to time.

I remember it being the only of my one friend's New Modern Warfare Movies (of course the classics are great: Full Metal Jacket, Apocalypse Now, Platoon, The Thin Red Line, etc) that actually I could enjoy, I don't remember a lot though. I do remember the moral overtones you speak of also.
