    Maelstrom of Emotion

My heart doth burst asunder, when by thy grace it acts
A confused piece of beating flesh
    Evoking feelings, not quite quelled
    Like entwined serpents, writhing, helled.

    Strong feelings, disquieting thoughts
    Trumpet forth with silent blasts
    Risk everything, or gain nothing
Oh that by my strength could I silence bring.

My chest aches, ill half suppressed
    Evoking mem'ries half revealed
    Mounting tides of mixed emotion
    Onward, forward, to destruction.

To this I'll drink, with nothing sated.
    Inside the twisted beast arose
    Oblivion sought
    Nothing sated, confounded thought.

So why do you think there are so few replies to poetry threads?
    Lack of artistic appreciation?
    Lack of art?

I think Little Toe that a lot of times poetry like this touches people in a way that they can't express... I know that is how I feel

When someone touches your soul how can you tell them? Not everyone has a gift like you...

Poetry is a wonderful way to express your deepest thoughts, many times when I was really down, even depressed when I knew I was going to leave org. I wrote poetry. It was actually the best I had ever written. I totally appreciate poetry written by others. It's a great way to vent your inner feelings. I enjoyed your poem.

    LT,

You ask why so little replies are made to poetry threads.

Sometimes there is nothing to say, except maybe shed a few tears like I did with yours.

That is the highest compliment, but maybe just a few lines to the writer to let them know we read it.
It's hard to fess up to tears on the net.

    Just keep writing....
    Ana

Thanks for sharing that poem, Little Toe. I enjoyed it. It's a condition we've all experienced.
