Did the video What Will I Do With My Life change hearts and minds about secular careers, higher education?
Did these videos affect your witness friends?
How effective do you think these videos are and why do you feel they were produced.

since i'm still a young person and after knowing some of the things that i learn here i threw up a little in my mouth especially the fist vid put out by jws it was unrealistic and so fake those ppl crock of s**it lyn, NY they don't know crap whats its like being a teen its harder now than my grandparnts age as a teen.

also after seein the second vid what am i going 2 do w/my life tried to make young ones who are not baptise or poineering make them feel guilty and also crushes the dreams of young ppl seeking higher edu or prof. sports

Like everything else from the Puketower Society, those videos integrate poorly in real life. All they want is to prevent young people from making real friends, and in doing so, hold them captive to the Tower for life. So, they deliberately put in crap advice that, when followed, will enable them to only make friends with other Witlesses. And, of course, it is poorly integrated with real life.
An example of this can be seen when they have to go out in field circus the day after the organization was exposed and embarrassed for their pedophile problem. Now they are being identified by people in the world, including classmates, workmates, and neighbors, as supporting pedophiles. Any men in the group are even suspect at being among the pedophiles, since they all look alike (unlike the Catholic scandal where the leaders had distinctly different dress codes from the laity). This is sure to ruin any chances of having a normal life within the community.
Effectively, the advice in those videos (and in the books as well) does not work. I don't buy any of that "it doesn't matter if no one ever falls for you" or "you shouldn't join a club or group" or "college is spurious and detrimental" crap that those articles in the Asleep! magazines portray. That is a blatant lie designed to appease people, and keep them active doing things that are totally counterproductive in one's personal lives. Going out in field circus all the time is difficult and they need people to do it so they can let their lives pass them by. Then, when they get old, they realize that they are no closer to the new order than when they started. They realize that they have wasted their lives peddling crap. They die heavy of heart, unfulfilled, and usually with the hounders telling them that they need to be doing even more right up until they die. That is the real truth--which they will not tell you on those videos or in the Asleep! articles.

when i watched the how can i make real friends was more like be anti-social to the world and to convert ur peers b/c they don't know any better the are all doing immoral things etc etc. and in all honesty which is the most part true.
One of the most interesting aspects of the video was the modern-day Dinah story that comprises the second half. As a piece of propaganda, I must say it was masterful. There were tons of places where the viewer was clearly expected to nod approvingly or (much more often) humph in righteous disapproval. for example when da school girl as da jw girl 4 help w/her homework the scene goes some thing like
WG= worldly girl JWG= jw girl
WG:I so need to get a good grade on this assignment! You have to help me.
JWD: Why do you need a good grade, are you failing?
WG: So i can get into college (Duh! u ditz so i can take advantage of ur brain) ok i had a flashback moment in HS sorry
at that point the audience is supposed to nod and say oooh college, bad, worldly no no no aaah make sense worldly ppl want to go to college. also they make more references to college, money and boys. i'm glad that i did not follow that advice i'm in college 2nd year got in right after HS

when that vid came out or about to come out the bro made a guilt trip about it i.e discourage material.therefore to preach,preach, preach and waste, waste,waste ur youth and beauty sleep. by using the modern day Timothy( of how he preach and that his mom and step mom aid him to persue jah goals and such)*disclamer* (i was not sure if this vid was targeted to Blk/AA ppl if u know what i mean b/c most if not all Blk/AA (worldy) push their kids to higher edu therefore all the Blk/AA JW who are watching this will know that we have to encourge deter out kids from persuning higher edu therefore putting the black man down even more (hey thats just my opinon and observation b/c i know 1st hand already the elders consuled me on this b4 big time) if u got a problem with it pm me ok.
