The universal law of religion is that the poorer many support the richer few.
It is as true of "western" religions as it is of non-western religions. It is the reason even Rutherford immortalized the words that came back to haunt him: "Religion is a snare and a racket". You were damn right on this singular point, man!
Show me a religion that does NOT operate by this formula of 'many-poorer-supporting-few-richer' and I will show you a camel dying of heat stroke after imbibing a bucketful of life-giving water.
