There is an interesting video on www.xenutv.com/cults/wave.htm . This is how a cult is started--the teacher starts an experiment to see if he can start a Hitler-like cult. They have a salute, a symbol trademark, and strict rules. The slogan is Strength Through Discipline (does any of this sound familiar within the Watchtower Society?).
While this is a documentary about the Nazis and simulation of them in a high school history class, note any similarities within the Watchtower Society. They recruit members. They spy on those who break the rules. They have all the meetings that people are supposed to attend. They have strict formatting rules about prayer, comments, and even beliefs. Anyone who is an active Jehovah's Witness or is thinking of becoming one should watch this video. It runs about 46 minutes and change, or a bit less than the length of one meeting or one "Bible(?)" study session.
