I think the Faithful and Descreet Slave needs to understand the difference from foolish questions about the OT Law verses exhausting time consuming subjects!
Paul probably became tired of foolish questions about the law because the new Christains struggled with LAW and how it applied to them.
Here is one! Can a man now live with his fathers wife? Foolish question!
Do you know some typical WTBTS exhausting time consuming subjects?
Any Watchtower book or magazine that we had to study at a meeting that contained the words 'type' and 'anti-type' is exhausting and headache-inducing.
I also thought of this from the law: the Watchtower has gone into all the various kinds of leprosy that existed back in Israel, including that of the clothes and of a house, and what exactly would have to happen to leprous people and/or items. Burn 'em (the items that is) . This kind of reading material came under the heading of "way too much information".
But they need to fill their rags with SOMETHING.
There is a word that I think of immediately when I see "type" and "antitype" or "antitypical" in those magazines. The word: non-sequitor. That which does not follow.
This is a way of saying that because something happened in the past means it will happen exactly the same way in the future. The 120 year period before the Flood is sure to be a rising star in the next 25 years as we near the year 2034. There is "antitypical Jerusalem". There is the "antitypical fulfillment" of its destruction, which is telling me that the world will be destroyed because Jerusalem was destroyed. All non-sequitors. (Maybe that's why you got headaches on them and had such a hard time following them).
This is similar to the non-sequitors that the stock market guys use. They see a pattern, match it to a pattern where it did pretty much the same thing, and then predict the same thing this time. They tried that with the stock market crash of 1987, comparing it to 1929. In 1929, it was followed by a huge bear market. In 1987, the market was stunned in 1988 but then resumed its upward bias. That's because what they were using to predict the market was a non-sequitor, just like the "typical" destructions leading to the coming "antitypical" destruction. Don't count on it.
WTWizard! When will they ever learn about dates, even we can add Noah preaching dates and apply it to 1914 of 120 years to come up with oh my 1934! Let see how did that go, oh yeah! WT 2004 we are into 90 years of preaching work just like Noah's 120 year pre entering the ark. So how many years do we have left to preach THIRTY YEARS! 2034. Can we assume that the end is near? LOL

The one that did it for me was an article years ago about the 'cities of refuge' and the 'blood avenger' and the modern 'types' they represented.
I realized then, that they were really stretching to fill pages.
I wasn't free of them yet, but cracks began showing.

RollerDave, oh boy! I bet that one gave you a headache! Really now how important was it for you to understand who the blood avenger represented and who he was avenging? I bet that article mis-guided many!
It really is important for Jehovah Witnesses to get together,share information, and do research. Sometimes it takes another person to point out the strange concepts in the WTBTS that another person did not see. Sharing thoughts only makes you more aware of false doctrines. For example: the blood avenger! Rutherford's anti-type and types which are non-sequitor meaning: that which does not follow.
I guess when the Jehovah Witnesses wrote about watch what you read. I believe that I wish I knew nothing about the crazy organization, because it has spiritual emotionally harmed me and many others!
Now look at all of us what are we writing! comments on man made doctrines for other Jehovah's Witnesses.
Roller Dave, I am going to say that the blood avenger is Jesus Christ as Michael who is going to avenge the blood of WTBTS brother and sister? I remember something like that! At first, I thought it was about drinking blood. Oh what a minute! it's that darn sword killing the beast that came out of the waters. Wew!
