"Do you consider yourself one of Jehovah's Witnesses?"

That is the exact question that my daughter asked me two years ago. Her face was almost white, and her hands were shaking. I think she may have been prompted by the elders in her congregation. Isn't that a standard question that elders ask when you express doubts? The only thing I said in an earlier conversation was that the Society had encouraged people to sell their homes and property prior to 1975. This really upset her even though I showed her written proof.

I know for a fact that she went to one of the elders regarding a remark that Clyde made. The elder promptly started a mini-investigation with a brother who he knew did business with Clyde. Little did this elder know that this brother had no use for him. Instead, the brother considers himself a good friend of Clyde. He later told Clyde all the details of the questioning and managed to turn the whole thing around.

It breaks my heart that my daughter wants to see us in trouble with the elders. I think it's so she can justify the way she turned my father (her grandfather) against me, but that's another story.

Two questions the elders will ask you if given the chance.

Do you believe this is Jehovahs spirit directed organization and

Do you believe the FDS is providing food at the proper time...

They are using your daughter to get to you. They do not care how just the ends. No love envolved just facts simple up or down no middle...

An elder asked me that same question. I was shocked that he would even ask such a question since I had not been attending very long.

I went up to him and asked him if he really thinks that Jesus Christ came down to Bethel and cleaned out pyramidology in 1918? He said that he did not know what that meant and he did not want to know.

He said Jesus can do what ever he wants then he asked me if I was a J.W. I had no time to think about it! then I said Yes.

Let see, if you ask a question have you ever noticed they say, "You should know this answer." "You have been a J.W. long enough to know this answer." "Everyone that is a J.W. knows this answer." and it is on going and I had three elders at different times when I confronted them about something they came back with an attitude and with the similar statements. It's rather strange and insulting! But did they answer my questions, "NO."

Because they probably do not know the answers or believe them.

Can you imagine not reading the books that was meat at due season and the sheep has the answer that an elder has no right to read.

    It too strange,odd, yet funny!

Perhaps when you daughter asked you a question like that you can state what an elder would say back. Then you both can have a good laugh!

Next time, just say. "You should know this answer."

I like this question a lot. It separates Watchtower Witnesses from Jehovah's Witnesses.

"Do you consider yourself one of Jehovah's Witnesses in association with the organization overseen and governed by the "faithful and discreet slave" class that uses the Watchtower and other publications from the same publishing agency?"

Depends on who asks. I'm being forced to lead a double life.
