That is the exact question that my daughter asked me two years ago. Her face was almost white, and her hands were shaking. I think she may have been prompted by the elders in her congregation. Isn't that a standard question that elders ask when you express doubts? The only thing I said in an earlier conversation was that the Society had encouraged people to sell their homes and property prior to 1975. This really upset her even though I showed her written proof.
I know for a fact that she went to one of the elders regarding a remark that Clyde made. The elder promptly started a mini-investigation with a brother who he knew did business with Clyde. Little did this elder know that this brother had no use for him. Instead, the brother considers himself a good friend of Clyde. He later told Clyde all the details of the questioning and managed to turn the whole thing around.
It breaks my heart that my daughter wants to see us in trouble with the elders. I think it's so she can justify the way she turned my father (her grandfather) against me, but that's another story.
