Unity Among Jehovah's People Today

    From a forthcoming Watchtower article:

    12. Some opposers claim that the unity among Jehovah's Witnesses is enforced and that there is no room for the exercising of individual consciences in God's organization. But is that really so? Far from it! Just consider the delightful variety that exists in the congregation. One brother may choose to wear a white shirt while delivering a Bible-based discourse, yet another prefers blue. Some sisters clean their houses each morning upon rising, while others do their chores later, after field service and food shopping.

    13. Even young folks can express their individual personalities. Nathan, a five-year-old unbaptized publisher in Canada, says: "It is my desire to serve Jehovah at Bethel when I have achieved greater spiritual maturity." With loving parental guidance, his older sister Michelle has set the goal of pioneering when she turns 16. Among honesthearted observers, there can be no doubt: "Where the spirit of Jehovah is, there is freedom." (2 Corinthians 3:17)

And when do the brothers clean their homes?

And the only things the sisters do is shop and clean and go in field service?

    Typical gender stereo-typing....

    (grumble, grumble)

    14. However, some Jehovahs Witnesses have exercised their individual conscience in ways that have harmed others, even seeking to undermine a persons faith by suggesting that most Circuit Overseers could be replaced by fallen trees for all the good that they do. Reports have even been made by some elders who peeked into a conference room at Patterson, that some, obviously not yet firmly grounded in the Truth, have been noticed sleeping soundly with their open mouths pointing towards heaven during the Governing Body sessions......Ooops.

    Hey!

Do I detect a lack of respect for the fine spiritual food provided by the faithful and discreet slave (that would be me in this case--classy, huh?)?

    15. In these perilous times, so close to the end of this wicked system of things, it behooves all of Jehovah's servants to hold firmly to the "pattern of healthful words" that we have learned from Jehovah's loyal 'faithful & discreet slave". - 2 Tim. 1:13

    16. HOWEVER, it is reported that some Christians have begun to question the authority of Jehovah's earthly organisation with its loyal governing body. They need to remember where it is that they were first taught the light of eternal truth. It is true that, at times, there are some minor adjustments in understanding, but how wise it is to stick closely to the organisation.

Doesn't it usually go like that?

    Been there, done that.
