Dang- I had to go back to work!

I was in California enjoying the 2nd week of a 3 week vacation and I got a phone call last week. I had to report for work on Monday morning. I was off for 20 months on paid leave from my company due to a plant closing. It just took a long time for them to realize it was cheaper to have me working than sitting at home. I had the equivalent of 5 years of back to back weekends and I enjoyed every day of it- especially the days I managed to find a J-dub to talk to. I guess my JW enlightenment activities will have to be curtailed for now.

I knew it couldn't last. I'm back to getting up at 5am driving an hour+ to work and back. My brain is protesting having to think about technical stuff, too. My wife for some reason seems as happy as a clam to have me out of the house and working again.

My wife for some reason seems as happy as a clam to have me out of the house and working again.

My condolences. Same thing happened to me, I was off for 15 months, the wife started nagging me at 12 months. Got a temp job doing building maintenance, a day here and there, (The nagging stopped after the first day of work.) I was hoping to work day a week. Unfortunately the perm guy quit and I have been working 40 hours a week ever since, 3 years 8 months so far. Maybe I will get canned and I can take over your job.
