When I was a dub, I saw more love and happiness in "worldly" people. They were happy with their relationship with God. They were secure about their spirituality. If they weren't, they could make changes to be happy.

The dubs have not been tortured and killed by the Japanese and their children eaten in front of them either.
They have never been in a them or me situation like this to my knowledge...
Basic survival is a hard natural thing to overpower with a religion or belief...
Or is it? The Japanese have a living god in the form of their empororer and they will commit suicide gladly if he approves or even suggests.
