One of my favorite Metallica song

"Spineless from the start, sucked into the part

circus comes to town, you play the lead clown

    pleas, please

spreading his disease, living by his story

    knees, knees

falling to your knees, suffer for his glory

    you will

time for lust, time for lie

time to kiss your life goodbye

send me money, send me green

    heaven you will meet

    make a contribution

and you'll get a better seat

    bow to leper messiah

marvel at his tricks, need your Sunday fix

blind devotion came, roting your brain

    chain, chain

join the endless chain, taken by his glamour

    fame, fame

infection is the game, stinking drunk with power

    we see

time for lust, time for lie

time to kiss your life goodbye

send me money send me green

    heaven you will meet

    make a contribution

and you'll get the better seat

    bow to leper messiah

    witchery, weakening

    sees the sheep are gathering

    set the trap, hypnotize

    now you follow

time for lust, time for lie

time to kiss your life goodbye

send me money send me green

    heaven you will meet

    make a contribution

and you'll get the better seat

    lie, lie..."

And that's why the WT does not want you to listen to Metallica

perfect song. i put it in my top 10 on that other thread.

i periodically played metallica when i was a college dj but was more into punk at the time...there was always that punk / thrash scene that seemed separate. i have so much respect for metallica after seeing 'some kind of monster'. well, i always had respect b/c they could sell records w/o air play and mtv, who jumped on the bandwagon after metallica was successful. the napster thing, lars really lost a lot of cred for them.

anyway, wish i wasn't the elitist teen punk i was when metallica was playing smaller shows and didn't realize until recently how great 'master of puppets' is.

I was just in my early teens wen I was introduced to Metallica. My dad kept finding my cassettes and he would smash them up ( after he would "smash" me up) so now I have the Cd's. I wish I still had the original albums. It sure brings back a lot of memories wen I listen to them. It's good stuff.

    Nice lyrics

I only know a few MTV popular songs by them because I'm of the "Loves Hairbands" group. Love metal, too, but just don't know as much Metallica as I wish I did.

I know that James Hetfield was raised in Christian Science. A cult.

Being older than some of you I never got into a lot of heavy metal music. There have been a few songs that I like and "Nothing else matters" by Metallica is one of my favs.

Trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us something new
Open mind for a different view
    And nothing else matters
