Hmm. It seems that Caeser wants to use them, so we are obligated to get them. On the other hand, they are a mark of the Wild Beast, similar to the Malawian party cards, so you will get disfellowshipped for getting one. Then again, having one would make it easier for the Watchtower Society to tap in and track everyone so they can be hunted down if they try to fade, so better make sure you have one. Of course, they can also be used for military purposes, so you are not allowed to have them. But they can definitively identify you as one of Jehovah's Witlesses so you will not get blood and so that the government can make sure you get persecuted, and the information can be used if you later change and try to order Christmas decorations or join another church. Then again,...
I think this is going to be an issue that the Witlesses are going to be torn apart on. You're damned if you get one, and you're damned if you don't.

I seriously doubt the Watchtower would say anything about it at all. Privately, individual dubs would kick it around in Field Service, and then the "I heard that one Circuit Overseer said..." stories would start up.
In the end, they probably wouldn't care. They didn't freak out about social security numbers to my knowledge.
