I had a few pleasantries with Venice yesterday re obtaining copies of The Guardian newspaper.
I visited my newsagent to try to get back copies, unfortunately they are picked up for re-cycling by the Guardians agents the same night, so no joy there.
I phoned their HO, they told me that back-copies are available at a price from a company in London who will post them to you, (they specialise in papers on the day that you were born, that sort of thing) telephone 020 8763 6363. Outside UK, dial +4420 8763 6363
There is an alternative. Along with most British broadsheets, they appear abroad, including the US, 2 - 3 days after their issue date. So Mondays Guardian should be cropping up in the USA either today or tomorrow in the busier news sellers, especially in tourist areas and airport shops.
I think it will cost about $1.50.
By the way, don't ask for the Manchester Guardian, its now just known as The Guardian.
Englishman.
