This was a great post from H20. Very well done.

The sad thing is if you read COC, you will find that a majority of the GB wanted to get rid of this policy about 18 years earlier than they did, but due to one vote being changed at the last minute, they did not have the required 2/3 of the vote to change policy.

This is a topic rather foreign to Canadian Witnesses. I think the needless years spent in prison for these men should call for at the least a heartfelt apology. A WT after the change indicated that these men shouldn't feel bad for "having suffered for following thier consciences." Very disgusting when men beg off from accepting responsibility for their actions, and what a shame and reproach it is on God too.

    WHAT!!!!!!

You expect me to follow you around fixing your url's like a surrogate mother?

    One more time: http://www.cyberpass.net/~h2o/wwwboard/messages/298429.html

Get in touch with your feminine side - and follow AhHah's instructions - a word before your url address - like *duh*

Then breath deeply, saying "I'm in touch," and enter. Works like a charm. Be Free.

Btw, I replied to this post. The brother I met and knew for years was df'd for accepting hospital assignment instead of being assigned hospital assignment.

He did not sin against his conscience. He sinned against the WTBTS and was disciplined. We are only allowed to follow our Bible-trained conscience and be within the organization if we do what the organization says we must do - even if it's a private conscience matter (such as voting).

The freedom is an illusion. The reality is obedience, df'd, or da'd.
