Of course, many of you have already heard about this trial, read the little excerpts on other sites, or maybe have read the book about it. For those of you who do not have the time, patience and eyes (for the words and letters are sometimes illegible) I would like to give some highlights on this trial. It is especially interesting as towards, twisting and turning, refusing to give straight answers, noteworthy remarks, etc.

In the pdf file every page is divided into section A-F. The quote will be followed by my comments and please, anyone who wishes to respond, refute or add his own comments, please do so.

    Page 14(11): section B
Q: Is a publisher an equivalent title of a member of the society.
    A: yes
Q: This is to say, one who has been immersed and baptised and thereby undertaken to publish, as you put it, the gospel of the kingdom.
    A: yes

my comment: This is not currently the case. When has this separation taken place? If these publishers were ever members of the society called WTBS of Pennsylvania: How did this separation go about? Question is too, whether this idea has been promulgated in the literature of that time? Rutherford had some stunning idea about it but he had been dead for about 12 years, so something may have been different. His idea: Society may relate to WTBS and/ or to the group of individual anointed Christians. Leolaia made some comments on that.
Typical double speak? (stay tuned there is furtherdown the trail some real double speak going on)

    page 15 section A
Q: members of the society are limited, are they not under the charter?
A: Yes, to those in membership of the society, and legally and specifically that is limited to several hundred.

Page 15 Section B The court asks:
Q: You used the word society several times in your evidence. When you use that word, to which society are you referring?
A: We are referring to the Pennsylvania corporation which supervises the work all over the world, not to the New York Corporation.
Q: Is that the Watchtower bible and tract society incorporated?
A: No, that is the New York Corporation.

    Page 15 section E:
A: Yes, it is a theocratic organisation
Q: has it the dual purpose of the worship of Jehovah god and the preaching of the gospel of the kingdom throughout the world?
    A: Yes
Q: Those are the fundamental purpose
A: Yes, the two are inseparable in fact. The worship of Jehovah God includes the active service in the form of publishing the message that has been provided.

    Page 20 section C
Q: Is there , in view of the final arrival of Armageddon, any urgency in the need to preach the gospel of the kingdom throughout the world unto all nations?
A: yes. We believe that the battle of Armageddon will arrive within the generation that began witnessing the events of 1914 and still continues witnessing the evidence of the fact that we are living in the time of the end of this world and the time of the presence of this established kingdom of God.

    Page 23 section A
A: Yes we do. We realise that preserving our lives and proving worthy of everlasting life in Gods new world depends on our obeying the command to preach the good news of the established kingdom, because those who do not align themselves on the side of this kingdom will be destroyed in the battle of Armageddon, and according to the divine rule which is given in Ezekiel’s prophesy, chapters 5 and 33, God constitutes as witnesses a watchman class, and he commands this watchman class to give a warning of the coming of the battle of Armageddon, the great executional sword which shall destroy all the adversaries of Jehovah God and of his kingdom by Jesus Christ, and there Jehovah God tells the watchman class that id they fail to warn the wicked of the coming of the executional sword the wicked man shall die all right because of his own wickedness but because he failed to receive a warning at the mouth of the watchman class God will require the blood of the wicked of the watchman's hand......

    My comment:
worship and preaching inseperable.....urgency.....proving worthy of everlasting life.......take care, you all are going to dy within a few years now! The watchman class is responsible so, while growing older, they press the other sheep into labor as proof for worthiness........

Upcoming: Who will survive the big A, the new world, financials!

    Cheers

When I read the manuscript years ago my question about the Watch Tower leadership was answered. The question of : To what degree are they self deluded, and to what degree are they dishonest?

A casual look at the history of the Society's behaviors and teachings quickly reveal the policy of holding a belief for required acceptance until, by events and time, that belief fails, then they simply change the belief to a new belief that's required for enforced acceptance.

It's a fascinating group to study from within and without. The fact that this group survives and prospers is extremely interesting.

Yeah, Rutherford redefined "the Society" as referring to both the WTB&TS and the "faithful and wise servant class". This extended his authority beyond that of being the president of the WTB&TS such that he could enjoy a status similar to the one that Pastor Russell originally held, i.e. as the chief representative of the F&WS class. The redefinition of the "Society" in the 1920s also paved the way for the "theocracy" doctrine of the 1930s, which made WTB&TS organizational structures equivalent to those of "God's earthly organization," reinforcing the identification of the WTB&TS with religious, ideological entities like the F&WS. At the same time, a vacuous distinction was also made between them (usually through saying that the WTB&TS was only a "representative" of the FW&S), allowing Rutherford to deny the equivalence when necessary.

It was in 1971 when the "board of directors" of the WTB&TS ceased to be the religious "governing body" for the F&DS class; of course, the new members of the governing body were all long-time "company men" affiliated with the WTB&TS, but this move at least disentangled the two entities ideologically, such that the WTB&TS could be viewed as a mere "tool" for the "governing body" (there is much on this in Ray Franz' Crisis of Conscience). But even in the 1980s, the Society once blundered itself into admitting in the pages of the Watchtower that the WTB&TS is the F&DS.
