Did any jw died at Tsunami 2004 in Thailand?

    My mom said that according to the society non of jws died. She was very proud of it.

    I was told that None of them died.

    I remember my mother being quite proud of the fact that no JWs died in that disaster. The JW urban legend goes that they were all at the convention when the Tsunami hit and their lives were spared. (Their homes were destroyed)

    A couple of JW tourists died, I don't have the details riht here, but it was mentioned in the GA article about it, make a search in the DVD and you'll find it.

    I also heard a woman TV evangelist (can't remember the name) who told about a Christian group that wanted to celebrate Christmas but because of opposition had to go up into the mountains to celebrate. She inferred that they spared them for their faithfulness.

    We were told at a Circuit Assembly of a JW family that were saved because they were obediently engaged in field service "up country" that day. Had they not been in service...
