The CO announced that there would be a meeting with the Elders Saturday afternoon in addition to the usual Friday night meeting. Is that happening in other congregations? If it is, any idea what it's about?

They always do, normally it includes the min servs too, unless it's changed since I was out. Oh, but there will be plenty of private meetings too which won't be announced. These will be about who is rubbing shoulders with the elders and wants promoting etc.

No doubt elders who are still going to an October 7 special meeting will be having special congregational elders meetings before hand.

We always had one last brief meeting with the CO either Saturday after service or Sunday before the meeting. It's just to go over the report that he sends to the Society about how crappy the congregation is doing.

Nope, none of that sounds right. The regular MS and the Elders meeting is Friday night, and they're supposed to bring their KS books, Bibles and a notepad on Saturday so it's not the usual run of things.
