I just came across an interesting article in the Jamaica-Gleaner on Christmas. It is entitled "Christ born to die." Thought some of you might like to read it.

the Editor asks for a piece on Christmas, and he assigns his staff writer to interview Jehovah's Witnesses, Seventh-day Adventists and Rastafarians, it is an attack upon Christmas that he will get.
The staff writer should have interviewed Ex-Jw's..they would have gotton a far more rounded out view point and all the facts needed to support both sides of the story!!

This artical supprised me because Seventh Day Adventists do celeebrate Christmas and often have a Xmas tree in their churches.
That's a very lame defense. Just because "christians" feel they need something to celebrate is not a good argument. I think it can be decerned what time of year jesus was born , the reason the church chose Dec.25 was in order to consolodate pagan ceremonies in with the christian movement. The only ceremony jesus himself ordained was the memorial supper , "keep doing this in rememberance of me" .
