Anyone here belong to Toastmasters? Toastmasters is a group devoted to public speaking. Within Toastmasters there are various groups that speak on different subjects. Darin just had a very positive experience at his Toastmasters meeting. It would be fun to have a toastmasters meeting for cults. I realize that the amount of XJW's willing to get involved would be low, however if you were to make it a general cult venue you could pick up X members of other cults too. just an idea.

Hi Junction,
When I was a JW, I worked with a couple of people who were members of Toastmasters. We discussed their speech training and compared this the the JW Theocratic Ministry School. We even compared speech counsel points on the TMS Guidebook with the points used by Toastmasters. There was quite a bit of similarity. Nonetheless, I was somewhat envious at the freedom to speak on their own topics and not be tied to JW themes. Well, now I am free ... but I have not taken to opportunity to join toastmasters. I do think they are a great group, and help people in many ways.
