I think that the doctor found the cure for my headaches

I've been having headaches everyday! I didn't know why I was having them. I thought that I could have a tumor on my brain, migraines, sinus headache, or just my nerves! Oh yeah, I also thought that I was a hypochondriac and/or I was just crazy.

Turn out it is my nerve/s. The occipital nerve. My ENT said that I have Occipital Neuritis. He gave me four injections of a numbing agent mixed with a steriod. Wallah! The pain in my neck, scalp, and eyes starting abating almost immediately. The injections were given into the back of my skull around the nerve/s area. When the doctor was giving me the injections, he could hear (I could hear it too.) this crunching sound. He said "Wow, you've really got a lot of muscle fibrosis!". I guess that's why the other term for the disorder is cervical fibrosis.

I do have a little bit of a sinus infection, too. So, he gave me an antibiotic to take at home.

Thanks for the info. My wife has been suffering with migrains for most of the 22 years of our marriage. Yea I know I know, Im the cause of her migrains. Lol.

I will pass this on to her. She has tried everything else short of surgery and acupuncture.

    Good for you!!

I bet you are relieved to get rid of the pain..

That can really grate on your nerves along with all you've been going through..

Big hugs to you and your hubby..

    Snoozy..

ps..Strange story..after hubby got sick I was looking at the TV but not paying attention..when all of a sudden I saw with kaleidoscope eyes!

What I was seeing was like looking through a kaliedoscope. All different colors.

When I went to the Dr (M.D. eye specialist) he said it was a migrane type headache. That was how they actually look.(Migraine) .I had no pain with it.

He put drops in my eyes to relax them and it went away..never came back. That was really wierd..I thought I was having a stroke! Or cracking up also..

Snoozy who is going to find out how to spell Kalidescope(kaleidoscope) correctly and edit this ...

Just wanted to give everyone the one up on the injections. Whooo! They hurt! If I hadn't of taken Tylenol for my headache, the doctor would have had to scrape me off the ceiling to give me the next injection! But it was worth it to not have the crummy daily headache that I've been having. I'll let you know if the treatment continues to work out for me.
