I was having a very hard time getting my assignment completed from last Sunday that I was getting discouraged. I was already a day late with it from not knowing how to form the essay. I would sit here at the computer doing my research, reading over the chapters, staring at the screen and I still couldn't form my 700-1,500 word essay. My 8 year old son was in the kitchen doing his (what he felt was taunting) homework. I came in to get a drink and take a small break from it. He noticed I was becoming discouraged and asked me, "mom, are you ok?". I said "yes honey, I'm just getting a bit frustrated with this assignment that I'm working on". He then stopped and gave me a hug and said " take it in pieces mom, that's what I do when I get frustrated". He was right, I was trying to work on the whole assignment all at once. I took it in pieces and I was able to complete it and feel pretty good about it.
Thanks to young "cheerleaders" to help you keep going, right?

That must have wormed your heart. And it's good advice as well!
Hope things look up for you freedomfrog. I know that I always feel better after turning in a big term paper.

It sure did...it more than made me warm and fuzzy inside...it made me more motivated to push on forward.

What a good kid, and so nice to know he's actually been LISTENING!!
"Take it in pieces" is good advice for nearly every problem. "Tear it to pieces" is what may happen otherwise!
