Did they open with song and prayer? How many in attendance? I understand that they tie in Brooklyn, Paterson and the Stanley Theater in New Jersey.

What do they talk about - anyone stay for the business meeting?

ON Saturday, October 2, 1999, the Annual Meeting of the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania was concluded with a surprise announcement. The 10,594 in attendance or connected by tie line were thrilled to hear that four new members had been added to the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses. The new members, all anointed Christians, are Samuel F. Herd; M. Stephen Lett; Guy H. Pierce; and David H. Splane.

In 1999, over 10,000 attended. I believe there are about 500 'voting members'. We used to have a former circuit overseer in our hall that was a member. If he couldn't go, he had to verify a 'proxy' with the society, and let his vote be used by that one. It is a legal appendage of the corporation that they have to hold this meeting as a corporation.

Its really just your typical WT propaganda after the brief business meeting. Epxeriences from different parts of the world on how good the preaching work is doing. The GB and some other "heavy's" give talks. Thats about it.

I attended one in the early 60s in PA. I was on my way to the Ministry School in upstate NY. Can't remember any thing about it. I don't think it was a big assembly hall. I think I saw the liberty bell with the crack in it while I was there in PA. There was a speech given and some voting. My mother was with me. Don't remember any of the details.

I attended one in Leicester in the early 80s. I guess the European Bethel members had been invited. Can't remember anything from the meeting though.

The only thing I learnt is the pronunciation of "Leicester".
