WHAT DO JWS BELIEVE ABOUT THE`BEAST'?
It's the Personification of Evil on Earth which issues library cards.
Badboy - have you got your caps lock (permanently) on by any chance?
JWs believe the beast is the world wide political system that has been in existence for centuries. When a person has the mark of the beast it means that they look to the governments of man to solve our problems rather then to God’s Kingdom. The “666” being on a person’s forehead denotes a mental support for the government’s of man over the Kingdom of God. “666” being on one’s palm symbolizes one working to support the political system (donations, etc.).

What is this "disgusting thing"?
11 The "disgusting thing" stands in contrast to the "kingdom of our Lord [Jehovah God] and of his Christ," which was born in the heavens in 1914. (Rev. 11:15–12:12) That kingdom is described prophetically as "pretty for loftiness" and "the perfection of prettiness." (Ps. 48:2; 50:2) But the nations immediately began to rage against the Kingdom. (Ps. 2:1-6) Very soon they brought forth the League of Nations, later to reappear as the United Nations. In the Bible book of Revelation this international body is depicted as something truly "disgusting"—"a scarlet-colored wild beast . . . full of blasphemous names and [having] seven heads and ten horns." (Rev. 17:3, 8) How "disgusting" it is from Jehovah’s viewpoint! For it has been lauded as the agency to bring in "peace and security"—something that only Christ’s glorious Kingdom rule can accomplish for mankind.—Isa. 9:6, 7; compare 1 Thessalonians 5:3.
12 Who have made such boastful claims for this human agency? Outstandingly, the clergy of Christendom! In December 1918, the Federal Council of the Churches of Christ in America extolled the then-proposed League of Nations as "the political expression of the Kingdom of God on earth." More recently, in 1965, Pope Paul VI proclaimed the United Nations to be "the last hope of concord and peace." Down to this year 1979, popes and prelates continue to woo favors from the U.N. But where do these clergymen belong? They are tied in with a religious "harlot," described in Revelation as "Babylon the Great, the mother of the harlots and of the disgusting things of the earth." (Rev. 17:1, 3-6) As the world empire of false religion, this harlotrous "woman" plies her trade with the nations’ political leaders, as she declares her faith in the U.N. "beast," assuming even to ‘sit as a queen’ atop that "beast" in giving it direction. (Rev. 18:7) But just as she appears to be ‘sitting pretty’ with her political "lovers," the radical "ten horns" of that U.N. will come to ‘hate the harlot and make her devastated and naked,’ and desolate her completely.—Rev. 17:16.
13 With the discerning eye of faith, Christians can even now see that "disgusting thing"—the U.N.—"standing where it ought not," with "horns" threatening the so-called ‘holy realm’ of Christendom. (Mark 13:14; Matt. 24:15) The desolating of false religion draws near! She has miscalculated in placing her trust in this "disgusting" beast! As the reader discerns these things, what should he do? Jesus answers: "Begin fleeing to the mountains."*** w82 9/15 p. 18 par. 4 High Time to Flee! ***
When Britain and America took the lead in proposing the League of Nations in 1918, the churches of Christendom gave wholehearted support. The Federal Council of Churches of Christ in America hailed it as "the political expression of the Kingdom of God on earth." What blasphemy! To say that a combine of the political nations of Satan’s world could be God’s kingdom on earth! A disgusting thing, an abomination, indeed, in the sight of Jehovah and of those truly standing in the "holy place" as ambassadors on earth of the now ruling "heavenly Jerusalem"! And what have the world’s clergy said of the League’s successor, the United Nations? They have described it variously as ‘the sole hope of survival’ for mankind, "the last hope of concord and peace" and the "supreme forum of peace and justice." As with the League of Nations, they place it in "a holy place" by claiming that it will bring about what God’s kingdom alone is capable of accomplishing.
When the combination "scarlet-colored wild beast" appeared in 1920 as the League of Nations, and when it reappeared in 1945 as the United Nations, "Babylon the Great" maneuvered so as to get astride this international body, to gain benefit and profit. She takes no account of the fact that this "disgusting thing" of a political kind stands where it ought not to stand, trespassing in the "holy place" that is now rightly the domain of the "heavenly Jerusalem," God’s kingdom by Messiah.
The WTS first taught that the great tribulation started in 1914 and was interrupted in 1918 and changed that in 1970; now after teaching that the UN stood in a holy place in 1918/9, they teach that it is yet a future time...what else can change?
That other people (not jw) worship it
