My wife was getting something out of the bathroom sink cabinet and there was water all in the bottom. The faucet had gone bad. I went over to Lowes and got a new one, while I was installing it I noticed the sink trap was bad also, so I go back over to Lowes(14 miles) and find the one I need and get to the counter and discovered I didn't have my wallet. I had taken it out of my pocket because it hurt lying on it while working on the sink. Back home to get my walet and another 28 miles. Well I finally got it all working. I hate doing plumbing when you can't see or get to what you are working on. My back was bothering me before I started working on the sink but now it feels better after all the bending and laying on my back doing the repair. I guess there is some good from it all.

    Hi Ken,

My husband helped a single mom w/her kitchen plumbing once. He is broad shouldered and got stuck under the pipes under the sink. The hot water was suppose to have been shut off, but it wasn't and hot water came out on top of his head. Burned his scalp real bad.

Plumbing projects are also very messy. And w/all of your trips back and forth, it cost a lot in gas.

Plumbing stuff is the worst...always seems to take a bunch of trips to get all the stuff you need. Took me almost all day to fix a stupid toilet...first it was the gasket between the tank and the bowl, then it was all the crap inside the tank that had to be replaced. I had to make three trips to get all the right stuff.. I only live about ten mintues from the store but it was still a pain in the butt. If I lived 14 miles away, I would have been one unhappy camper.

At least you got the job done and your back feels better, Ken.

    Ken,

I hear you. My husband is a DIY type of guy. I am very familiar with the "oh I forgot this or that" and the "do you have your wallet?" question. LOL I am glad you were able to get it all taken care in just one day.

Ken my husband has found from experience any DIY (do it yourself) project requires 4 trips to Home Depot.

    I know what you mean.

    All's well that ends well.
