I read and interesting article here: http://watchtower.observer.org/apps/pbcs.dll/article?Date=20010827&Category=NEWS&ArtNo=10827003&Ref=AR
This is very strange that the WBTS associate with the UN because they always said that the UN was bad. I think that they really need money. I read another article where it was write that the church of scientology was run by the CIA. Do you have some information about it?

Here are a few (about 194) pages and/or related sites to sift through:

    Happy trails!

Hi Nicolas: In addition to any money, I believe that the WTS main motive is human rights (that is to use human rights issues to further their religious cause) and get the UN to bring pressure on some governments to grant recognition of the WTS in their respective countries and to cease harassment of JWs. I also think that tax issues and other concerns are there. You are right in that this is a major departure from their previous views of the UN as the Image of the Wild Beast from Revelation. - Amazing

As in this case, and that of Swaggart, the change in baptismal vows and in the donation for literature, self-interest and money invariably shapes WTBTS policy. Follow the money!
