Hello everyone, I was in Brooklyn Bethel for about 5 years 93-98 and since then MUCH has changed. I must say I had a blast in bethel (but doesn't everyone when they're single?). Anyways, my wife and I had to leave due to her getting pregnant and after that my life became INSANE trying to make it in the "real world". Starting a life from 0-60 in 2 seconds with NO MONEY has been something that I am still feeling the effects seven years later! Long story short, this combined with my leaving the org. has made me loose contact with many of my old friends. One of them that I have heard "rumors" that he "left the truth"(whatever that means) was an old friend by the name of Dean Dixon (originally from Southern California). He knew alot of people, very cool, super nice guy. He worked in engineering, was tall, blond, (good looking according to the girls). Anyone know of him or how I can reach him? I would love to catch up on old times. Maybe I know some of you guys? -Daniel Castro

welcome to JWD codedface,
Thanks for telling us your background. Most of us here know what it's like to have to invent a life from less than zero. Goodluck with finding old friends and making new ones

ps: I think all the Californians are tucked up in bed.

Welcome coded -
My hubby left Bethel in 1994 and we got married and we too still feel the effects of no work history, insurance history, etc. from those years. It's such a waste of time to be there and then they drop you flat on the street with no money. Even criminals leave prison with a little bit of money to get started!
sorry - don't know your friend, but welcome! you may just bump into him in here. -

Thanks for the words and the beer :) Bed? What's that? Oh yeah I kind of recall something to do with sleep (overated). -d

I don't know if this will help at all but you could always try going to www.freeminds.org
There are a few links to help reconnect with old friends who might be out.
Welcome to the board.

welcome codeface! can't help you with your search, but might caution you about unca bruise! he left the borg with nothing and has gone down hill. Some say he's bankrupt in more ways than one! Luckily he's on another continent and doesn't even know how to dog paddle, let alone swim! plus he's afraid of flying and can't keep his rudder straight so tain't likely he'll be showin up on our doorstep here on the west coast!
His electronic goobers are infectious though!
take care
