Did Albert Schroeder display a prideful attitude?

Some of the posts made about Albert Schroeder indicate that he displayed a somewhat prideful attitude.

Is this correct? Can anyone give specific examples of his being prideful?

I had this guy in Elder school 1970. He was about as self-prideful as they come, but tried to give an aura of great wisdom and knowledge and humility at the same time. He could also just cut you off in midsentence and walk away. Most of his displays were memory tricks rather than use of logic or reasoning.

I was hoping that he might be in on the enlightened group when Ray and Ed broke away. I asked Ed about it. Ed Dunlap felt the same as I said above - he went to great lengths to look like a knowledgeable professor. He was in reality a WT hardliner. Ed specifically told me about that terrible talk posted before where he said that some of the apostates were not "apostate against the Bible" but were rather "apostate against the GREAT BODY of WT LAW" that they had build up over the last hundred years.

I also agree that we apostates should be careful not to be too virulent against the guy personally - from all accounts his wife and maybe even the boy were pretty decent people. I am still holding on to the hope that the boy finds his way out of the cave.

OK, we will keep the tone somewhat mild for the sake of Schroeder's relatives.

I would like to know more about Schroder's talk in which he says apostates are "apostate against the GREAT BODY of WT LAW" built up over the last 100 years? That sounds very interesting, and so very pharisee-like.

Anyone recall the thread that mentions Schroeder saying that in a talk?

he said that some of the apostates were not "apostate against the Bible" but were rather "apostate against the GREAT BODY of WT LAW" that they had build up over the last hundred years.

It's amazing how so many Witnesses cannot see the parallel between the Pharisees and the Governing Body. Both claimed to have "the Truth", both view themselves as being the next best thing to God, both groups made up hundreds of man-made rules that are found nowhere in the scriptures, and then order everyone to follow them, and both groups view anyone who disagrees with them as "apostate".

Matthew 16: 11-12: But be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees. Then they understood that he was not telling them to guard against the yeast used in bread, but against the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

That's an informative post Mary, the GB are modern day Pharisees as they clearly display their mentality, in addition to what you said they also fail to do anything of substance to help the R&F carry the heavy loads they place on them.

When I was attending the KH I got fed up by their approach of always telling the JWs you must do so and so and so, but never did anything to help them do those things.

vm44- Schroeder gave a talk on May 29, 1980, I think it was about the Branch Office Book of rules, where he refers the the org as 'mother'. This may be the quote your looking for: "Some have fallen away from the organization, NOT FROM THE BIBLE, saying there is no need for COMING UNDER LAW"
