Laurel Ward 7 Councilman Joseph Jones, accused of a sex crime, claims giving up a blood sample would violate his constitutional rights.
But Jones claims giving blood is against his religious beliefs. He says he's been a Jehovah's Witness since birth. A private lab in Laurel refused to take his blood, with officials there saying they want to check first with their attorney. Jones is accused of having sex with a 13-year-old girl.
