Anyone read it?
Wifey ordered it and I am reading it now.
It is an amazing perspective I never knew existed. I don't know where to come down on it yet, but have found it facsinating to read so far.

No...But tell me what it is about!
Please post your thoughts in my absence. I will be at work for the weekend - next three days and won't be able to look much.
I look forward to comments on this book.
Jeff Legolas - it is about the Gnostic Christian perspective that Jehovah is really Satan.
I'm curious about the book as well. Let us all know what you think. Sometimes I worry that these sorts of books are more about the authors journey out of the Watchtower instead of a real study of the material. I'd like to know how this one holds up.
I am about 3/4 thru the book now. Without getting too involved, this is the main thrust of the book; Nate if you are reading this, please pardon my poor effort at explanation. I mean well.
Some of his statements are a little caustic - born of frustration I think with people who just blindly accept dogma without investigation. He seems to be sincere - not just trying to sell books - though I think that is how he makes a living from what I have gathered. He believes in the Gnostic Christianity he preaches here.
I have often had a 'disconnect' with the God of the OT and the God of the NT. They didn't seem to be the same person in action or thought. Nathan makes you think about things that most Christians don't want to think about. His discussion of the bloodthirsty actions of the OT God are pretty strong, hard to ignore.
Some time back I quit thinking about God as He seems to be related in the OT, just couldn't make it fit. Almost Athiest [Dave] thread about needless violence and bloodletting a week or so back made me think about those things in relation to what I read here. I must say that if Merrit has it right - and who am I to say? - some of those difficult to understand concepts will go away.
I think it is a worthy read for a differing perspective. It might be offensive to some hard core right wing Christians. Some of his views are hard to wrap your mind about - especially I would think for those still 'boxed in' in faith. Still - I think the book has some value.
His website is: www.nathanielmerritt.com or www.jehovahunmasked.com
So far I give it - for good reading. It makes me think.

Is it an easy read (easy to understand)..LOL

Yep. Hey if I can read it, anyone can. I was a JW, never go to college boy you know. LOL I think one could delve into it real deep using other works - but Nate's is easy to read and follow. Layman's terms. Jeff
i was supposed to order this back last year, and never got around to it. i am going to do that this month. always liked nate's work on this board myself.
