God's standards?

Throughout the Millennium, a wonderful miracle will be taking place. For mankind, it will be perhaps the most thrilling aspect of Christ’s Thousand Year Reign. Jehovah will direct his Son to apply the benefits of the ransom sacrifice to each and every faithful and obedient man and woman. By that means, all sin will be removed and mankind will be raised to perfection. -1 John 2:2; Revelation 21:1-4.

Perfection! What will it mean? It will mean a return to life the way Adam and Eve enjoyed it before they sinned against Jehovah God. Physically, mentally, emotionally, morally, spiritually- in every way imaginable- perfect humans will fully meet God’s standards.

Perfect humans will face one final test. At the end of the Millennium, Satan and his demons will be released from the abyss for a short time and will be permitted to make a final effort to turn people away from Jehovah. Some will put wrong desires above love of God, but this rebellion will be cut short. Jehovah will execute these selfish ones along with Satan and all his demons. All wrongdoers will then be gone forever. -Revelation 20:7-10.

So if all sin will be removed and mankind will be raised to perfection during Christ’s Thousand Year Reign how come Some will put wrong desires above love of God at the end of the Millennium when Satan and his demons will be released from the abyss for a short time. Perfect humans will fully meet God’s standards. Are we being led to believe that putting wrong desires above love of God is fully meeting God’s standards.

    lime05,

Not too clear on how you mean that. They certainly didn't mean for anyone to get that idea. The way they teach things, people are always capable of not meeting God's standards even in a perfect state, but they believe that after Satan is released he will mislead many again into willfully choosing to not meet God's standards (as he did with Adam and Eve).

But, the most curious part of that bit you quoted is that the 1,000 year reign was supposed to have begun in 1874. But well after 1874 (in 1925) they realized they got it wrong. Then it was supposed to have begun in 1914. But well after 1914 (in the mid 1930s) they realized they got it wrong. Then the Great Tribulation was to have started in 1914 and paused in 1919 while God was figuring out the controls on the DVD remote for the end of times movie, it would be resumed shortly—again they figured out they got it wrong (in the 1960s)...in fact, for every prophecy they have made where the due date has passed there is clear proof they got the prophecy wrong.

But they want to inspire confidence that eventually they'll get it right...I don't feel confident.

    Respectfully,

    Hi lime,

Humans and angels have free will. They can always chose to obey or not. Though perfect, Adam and Eve chose to disobey. Ditto for Satan and the demons. I believe that we will continue to have free will.
