Anyone here knows how many JWs there were worldwide 30 years ago? A JW I`m discussing with, proudly claims:
Actually, in 1975 there were 2,179,256 active Jehovah's Witnesses. In 2004, the number was 6,513,132 or about THREE times the number as in 1975.
Is this true? I thought the number of JWs had been almost exactly the same for many years now. I remember back in the late 80s when I was just a kid, that there were approximately "6 million witnesses worldwide" . That number sticks vividly in my mind for some reason. Anyone knows what the yearbook and statistics say?
