For those thinking that the WTS is being run by a well meaning but innocent misguided GB think about the cruelty they perpetrate on those whose families they have disolved or made mal functional due to their anti christian disfellowshipping policies.
The lonely grandmother that served the org faithfully for 40 years and now can't even see her grandchidren.
The father that needs to pray separately before a meal in his own house because his prayers are not acceptable to jehovah. Or the JW mother telling her children not to eat the meal he has lovingly prepared for them because he is an apostate.
The wife telling him to delay coming home because there are elders in the house that will be offended by his presence.
The circuit overseer that he had lodged and fed in his house so many times telling his wife that she would be better off having a husband in the truth to accompany her at the meetings and field service, and advising his jw employer to dismiss him.
The children reminding him that he will die at armageddon.
Looking at his wedding photos he will be very grieved that his dreams of a happy family got ruined. All because of a destructive cult he had the misfortune to join.

Destruction is what the Jehovah's Witnesses and their god, the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society is all about.
Destruction of all non-JW's at Armageddon
Destruction of all who leave their cult because they are 'spiritually dead' now and will be deader than that when they die.
Destruction of the family because no JW can tell his/her mate their innermost feelings for fear of reprisal by a self-appointed judge composed of three men.
Destruction, death, doom and gloom is the order of the day for the WT and its minions.

You are so right Greendawn. I have no other family in the wt, and my friend who has just left doesn't either, so neither of us are affected in that way, but we have both seen this happen to others many times. To be forced to become an outcast within your own household just because you want to break free of the jw mind control is more than outrageious, it is downright evil. Of course, the shunning policy is one of the main weapons in their armoury to keep people in the org who would rather leave, so I doubt they will ever change it. They talk about the importance of the family, but have no qualms about seeing one break up if it suits their purpose.

The situation is indeed sad and unfortunately very frequent and what is striking is their willingness to just write off years and decades even of work by a member once s/he disagrees with the leadership.
That is absolutely diabolical and grossly unfair. It also puts a lot of stress on the dubs because they know that all their hard work for the org can easily be deleted. It will all appear like a painful waste of time in case that does happen.
