Someone had a thread going (Lady Lee or Mouthy?) on 'Have you seen my mother'. Sounds like you will need a box of kleenix! Look for the thread from a couple days ago that starts something like 'Bryan, I am sitting here crying' . Someone else will direct you.

For Bryan's book, quite a few others expressed their thoughts about the book too.

Four Presidents is amazingly well documented. About half the book is references and the Appendix.

    Oh I forgot one

Awakening was gave an excellent perspective on what it's like to be a JW woman in the org. I would actually recommend it for men too to get a better idea of what we go through

    Thanx carla and LL.

I am about 50 pages into the 4 Presidents now. I tend to favor the historical perpectives first. I find it similar to Penton's book so far.

I told Diane by email once that I would read her book soon - I think that was a year back, so I will get to it next.

I've read 30 years a WT slave and it matches up with that too.

I tried to once. I have a copy somewhere. But my first reaction was that the author had too much bitterness to deal with the issues subjectively, so I put it down and never finished it. It was right after I read Franz's books, and his mild demeanor had impressed me and prob influenced my perception of 30 years to some extent. It will be a long winter, maybe I can dig it out and take another look.
