Right so for the last two months I've been exercising my ass off ..... literally !!!!! I'm doing body for life. I go to gym 6 times a week and train for no less than an hour. My first month I lost 3 kgs, my second month I've only lost 1.2 kgs. Altogether that's only 4.2 kgs - or 9 pounds.

When you step on that scale and you see such a small drop for so much work it can be so discouraging. Though I know I've lost in centimeters - I'm down a dress size already....But STILL you want to see the weight come off.

So I guess it's kg by kg.

    Lou Belle that's great!

But trust me on this next bit.. Stay away from the scales....

Seriously if you are working out that much here is what happens. You burn off the fat but you begin to build muscle mass. So it appears on the scales like your weight loss is not all that significant.

Start measuring yourself. Keep a diary and measure yourself once a week. Your arms, legs, waist, bust etc. You will be amazed at the differences each week. And its really encouraging and a great way too keep motivated!

    Good on you!

This is going to sound sick but.... It doesn't matter how much you weigh. It matters how good you look naked. If you like the way you look in the mirror, that's all that really matters. A scale cannot define body fat for you. Take a body fat analysis and take another six weeks later. That will be a more accurate measurement. Secondarily, make sure your diet reflects your dedication. For myself, I've found that diet makes about 85% of the entire battle. What you are doing is awesome! Good luck with it. It sounds like your attitude will see you through completely.

missp - great idea - I'll start doing that.

Coolhand - I do check my fat %. I didn't drop this month. And my diet is pretty much in line *there is room for improvement though*

do I like the way I look naked. Naah I don't, But I do look better than two months ago. That's why all the work. It's HARD man.]

    Thanks

    Loubelle:

You go gurl!!! Do not get discouraged and all that work you are doing is not in vain since the numbers on the scales are going down. Your clothes will still get looser and you will feel better even though those number will not go down all the time. Your body is changing and your metabolism is speeding up and you will continue to lose! In addition to that you are gaining some muscle which will add on weight while you lose fat and you being a woman sometimes your cycle will play a role in your weight as well as fluid (which Im sure you already know this) I went though that this year (stagnet scales) and lost almost 20 pounds this past summer but I have gained a little back since I have slacked off exercise due to a healing 6 inch incision on my lower back from surgery earlier this month. I may have the rest of the sutures removed later today hopefully but it still has a ways to get completely healed.

Thank you littlerock. It's a hard hard fight. But one that I intend to win.

Loubelle exercise does contribute to weight loss but the main thrust against excess weight should come from the diet not any odd or casually planned diet but a carefully planned one that is above all nutritionally complete. Then with a daily 1000 calory deficit you should comfortably lose 3.5-4 kilos per month which is about the maximum recommended.

Being in touch with and discussing diet experiences with other dieters also helps a lot psychologically.
