Friday at work there was a retirement party. I had to go to pin a decoration of service onto a Life member of a charity group. Well seeing the food was so good I decided to stay a bit.

Amidst all of this fun, I notice a lady who is deaf and cannot lip read. It became apparent that she was lost, so I turned and started to interpret for her.

HOW MANY OF YOU DID THIS AT MEETINGS AND ASSEMBLIES?

All went painfully fine until they asked this long winded ding bat to come up and say a prayer over the food. First off I did not want to interpret a prayer and secondly he talks for forever and repeats himself again and again. To make it worse he did not use all the JW words and I had no clue on some of the things he was saying so I had to spell out a lot. Finally I looked at this lady and made the universal sign for "BLAH, BLAH, and BLAH".

I then signed "In Jesus name, AMEN"

She started laughing so hard and seeing she cannot hear herself it was quite funny.

Remind me not to volunteer to help again. I was snorting I laughed so hard.

Hey Sparkplug... That was pretty funny.

Blah blah blah... That's the thing I remember most from prayers!

Sparkplug, where did you learn how to sign? My nephew, age 11, is almost deaf. I have the hardest time remembering anything.

    Miss Peaches...Me too!!

HL- I learned at the KH. Unfortunately it makes it really hard to sign regular conversations. I am really slow, just like how I type...
