Well, I Just "Broke Up" with My Therapist...

  Ha. It does seem like a break-up in some ways. A dear friend of mine says she "fired" hers, but to me, it feels more like a break-up.

  Dang. I was really hoping this would help speed along some healing in some of the ways I feel stuck... but... I don't think she knew what to do with me. Some of you will remember that I recently started a thread saying I had given my counselor the "Combatting Cult Mind Control" by Hassan as a gift, hoping it would help her to understand. I don't think it helped.

  Well, the great part about this is I have done pretty well so far without one, and healed a LOT of things that I feel pretty good about. The frustrating part is... I really wanted this to work.

  The problem with finding a counselor that works well with you is that you just have to keep looking... and paying for visits while you interview them for the job!!!

  I went to a counselor shortly after I left the JWs and my marriage failed, but I soon got tired of paying big bucks for the privilege of educating her.

  therapists are like mechanics, most of them screw you until you find an honest one.

  Thanks, Oomps! Yes, this place has helped me unfathomable amounts... I'm actually feeling pretty good about that right now. That might have to suffice.
