I am Df'd and my JW friend came over last night

Any idea's how to reach my mate? Here are some details for you to go on with.

We had our JC meetings the same week. She got RI'd I did not. I have been planting seeds for months now. She knows I post on "other JW sites". She will not view them as apostate.

My friend knows I have stopped going to meetings, but wants me to come back. I have only missed on week so far, but she wants me to come on Thursday, I said she is welcome to come round before the meeting as I will not be going.

Good news is, now she is back in and able to associate freely, she has come to terms with the fact everyone has changed and there is no instant bond. In her view some of her JW friends are extreme and not normal.

I had my copy of the Bible, Einstein and Relaigion, and Combating Cult Mind Control out for her to see. We talked a little about how individuals could not be guided by God's spirit, we agreed this gives the Organisation a bad name. She saw what I was reading, but did not take the bait.

Most of the time we were chatting about kids, relationships with ex's, jobs and holidays. I kept on reminding her how lovely her neighbour is.

I feel like I am on the mino again it's fun. Any idea's for next time?

I stopped going regularly in 2006, came back in 2009 for a few meetings and then stopped. I starting coming back in Feb of this year and realised.....they are "not normal" either. They are generally poorly educated, got dead end jobs and their kids have no normal conversation. How scary when a boy of 10 answers up like a grown up and does Bible readings? You should highlight these obvious points.

I don't know if I am just getting older and wiser OR a majority of JW's are barking mad?

Don't forget to promise you'll be there for her if she ever falls again, or is struggling with anything and needs someone to talk to without being judged.

So funny we were talking about that too. She is young and doesn't want to marry a window cleaner/pioneer, that can't afford to pay rent or run a car. Good point, we can dwell more on that. Hilarious.

Hi Kate. What I also noticed this year that some much of the doctrine had changed. Been reading lots of postings on here about the "new light" and to be honest, it just wrecks my head. I could'nt have gone on the min if I'd tried. How can I explain something to someone that I doubt/don't understand myself?? Jesus' message was not about confusing people.

I will say that, to her. She is a lovely looking tall slim girl, she is around your age. Can I also say I know a lovely guy who is mature and single with a good job and understands how she feels. He is a good Christian guy and not at all a scally.

The next time you come for a match, we can all go out to Liverpool One for a meal, and you can help me. What do you say?

Been reading lots of postings on here about the "new light"- QCF

Oh yeah, throuought this past year or so we have been discussing nulite. I just touch on my doubts and she has out it all on the shelf. It's on the shelf, and dust has not gathered there yet.

There've been more and more rumors and reports of the WT heirarchy increasingly losing their strict control over the R&F regarding association with XJWs (I can just imagine how much it pisses off the GB).

Always nice to see yet another confirmation added to the pile.
