Dissension spooking the Watchtower Leadership?

    Apparently the current round of CO visits (in the UK) includes (from an outline in the CO meeting with Elders and possibly also MSs) much talk of tightening up the rules on associating with DF/DA, apostates and that they are to take the lead in clamping down on this.

    They also focus on the view that apostates have nothing else to offer jw's.

    Sounds like anti-WT tactics are having an effect! But it looks like it's going to get tougher before it gets easier ...

    Anyone else confirm? My sources are elders/ms's in two seperate nearby congo's.

    Sure sounds like they have something to hide. Something doesn't work, you report it, and get disfellowshipped for "apostasy". And so you have the original bad report plus the attitude toward the hounders for not fixing it.

    "Leo Greenlees and Paul Gillies have been involved in homosexuality, "

    @the bible student

    Really? I'd be interested in how you substantiate this about Paul Gillies - AFAIK he has a spotless reputation so please inform us how you intend to prove this.

    Welcome to the Forum, freddo! Thank you for sharing with us.

    Does this also include non-JWs or family members who refuse to join?

    This worries me greatly as the C.O. was just recently visiting my father's congregation. I worry that my father will consider me 'an apostate' because I refuse to sign-up to the madness. My father also has non-JW friends and I don't want to see him lose them.

    The Bible Student:

    Leo Greenlees and Paul Gillies have been involved in homosexuality,

    I don't have a problem with your statement about Leo Greenlees; but what evidence do you have for saying that Paul Gillies is homosexual? I used to be in London Bethel and knew Paul Gillies and his wife Judith.

    I agree Paul Gillies is responsible for slavishly following Brooklyn's direction on covering up child abuse. I believe he has lied (whether knowingly or not, I have no way of knowing) to the media for WT. I agree he should be held accountable for these.

    But to casually throw around unfounded allegations, and refuse to supply evidence when challenged, is making you as bad as those you seek to condemn. Never mind that it calls into question your credibility and the accuracy of the rest of your statements.

    You would get more respect here if you had the honesty to admit you made a mistake, and simply move on.

    I wish you well in your campaign against the WT.
