The Creation of Jesus
by berrygerry inseeing a trinity thread.. can a jw apologist explain what (not who) is jesus?.
prior to the creation of everything 13.7 billion years ago (draw close book), jehovah created jesus as his firstborn, his only-begotten.. there was nothing else - no stars, no dust, no matter - just jehovah - and then, just jehovah and jesus.
so, what was jesus?.

Vultures - said the CO
by punkofnice ini was in a congregation where the po was also the co. a bit of n old curmudgeon.
he's no longer with us.. i remember him getting rather sarcy (that's 'snarky' to my american cousins), about how the local jobos would descend on someone new entering the kingdum he££ to try to get a 'study(tm)' and make 'placements(tm)' with the newbie.
not to mention 'love bombing'.. he said from the pratt-form that he didn't want the 'publishers(tm)' become 'vultures'.. i agreed with him.. by extension (typical jobo term), i noticed a certain preciousness about things...perhaps even a corrosive jealousy about things.. eg: if someone gave an 'experience(tm)' in a 'comment(tm)' about how they converted the universe and its dog (almost), to jobo-ism, (well not really, but you know, something more credible), the elder or whomever would ignore it, blank it as if they were envious.

It's about progress, not perfection...
by scratchme1010 ini guess at this point in time and space i'm ok if there's an indication of things going in the right direction.. my jw father, who joined the jws in 1973 when i was 8, has always had all the characteristics of the stereotypical brainwashed born again weirdo.
as a jw he always felt the need to show that he was more devoted than the rest of the crop.
to him, life became very easy from that point on: "the bible", interpreted by the millions of wt publications, along with the information in the meetings and getting involved in all jw activities, were the answer to everything and anything in his life".

i'm sure this topic has been talked about before, so my apologies in advance if i'm repeating.. a little about me.... i'm a non baptized jw married to a devout jw.
both my husband and i were raised in the organization.

How do they get away with "New Light"?
by moreconfusedthanever inone thing that bothers me greatly is the fact that they can change their policies and beliefs and just say its "new light" and no one bats an eyelid.. there are many scriptures such as isaiah 40:8 "the word of god will last to time indefinite.
" or hebrews 6:18 "it is impossible for god to lie".
if he is "spirit directing" the borg then there should be no need for new light..
