My Hollywood Memory : Sean Connery and Michael Caine
by Terry inthe year is 1983.. two new james bond films are slated for release, one of which will star the one, the only, sean connery, while the other one sports jolly roger moore.. never say never again vs octopussy, and i am one of the original james bond fanatics--so, how can i possibly miss out on the opportunity to attend the world premiere of connery’s flick?
the premiere was to be held at the mann national theater in westwood california.. was i excited or what?!.
tickets were impossible to obtain--unless--you had contacts in “the biz” and fortunately for me, i did.

New Light, the teaching that has morphed into Old Alibi
by FatFreek 2005 inas far as i recall watchtower's new light doctrine was conceived from the very first issue of zion's watchtower and herald of christ's presence, 1879. c.t.
russell used it then as an alibi for his failed 1874 and 1878 dates.
1874 was eventually replaced by 1914 and the rest is history.. well, they've been using the alibi ever since -- for the some 24 failed events that were supposed to happen in 1914 to the 49 failed dates over the years.. at the heart and soul of watchtower's "new light" teaching is proverbs 4:18, ".

Interviewed in a magazine of great circulation and in the radio in Portugal
by TJ Curioso intranslation:"inside the "destructive sect".
antónio madaleno was a religious leader in jehovah's witnesses.
on the eve of a demonstration of strength of the organization, which in the next three days promises to fill the estádio da luz in an international congress, this former leader characterizes it as "a group of high control" and tells us his personal drama to get rid of it.".

Thought provoking words spoken by Christopher Hitchens
by Finkelstein inchristopher hitchens has passed now but he left some very thought provoking ideas regarding religions and the detrimental effects it has had onto humanity and will continue to have.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afqiiddsokm .
what he was basically saying here is that religion can and does impede critical inquiry about the world we live, about are selves and the universe in which we exist, all in an acceptance of varying spiritual ideology.

Congrats, Simona Halep!
by LoveUniHateExams insimona halep has just given serena williams an absolute ass-whupping, winning her first wimbledon title.. so i guess congratulations are in order.. but, i gotta say, if i'd forked out loads of money for a courtside seat i'd be a bit disappointed.
the match lasted just 56mins, with halep winning in straight sets 6-2 6-2.. surely, it's time for the women to play over 5 sets in grand slam matches?.
