My wife just got back from a trip to the part of the country she was raised in, to visit family and stuff.
I have been suggesting that she talk to some other people besides me about this ex-JW stuff, and while she was up there she brought it up to an old friend.
This old friend, it turns out, has been fading for the last five years! This old friend kept shaking their head in disbelief telling my wife, "I never in a million years thought I would be having this conversation with YOU of all people!"
It was great for my wife to talk with this person because they gave her great insight into what life is like on the other side of things. This person also told my wife about many of their mutual friends that have been doubting and some who are just staying in because of family. My wife's friend has read CoC and Christian Freedom and they talked some about that stuff too.
My wife was able to ask alot of the hard questions of this person, like how to deal with family members, how to find answers after not being a JW, and so forth. I had given her good answers to these questions too, but it was good for her to hear it from someone else too.
Her friend was completely floored by the fact that my wife and I are getting out together with our family intact. That made me feel real good!
My wife was really excited after this. She has been saying lately that she can't believe there are so many people doubting that are just stuck in it.
Also, I had CoC and Christian Freedom waiting for her when she got home. She'll be starting those this week. Yay!

PS: Unfotunately my posts have been less-detailed than they have in the past. I have been very busy with work.
