Should we hold off on contacting Richie on his phone for now?

I ask this b/c Vsky started a thread where she had called, left a VM, and richie's dad called back...it was a sort of awkward situation...

I just texted (sp?) richie, and I got a call back from a Suzie (???) who said she was his friend....Went sort of like this...

''Hi, I saw where you texted richie...Is there something you wanted?''

''Oh I just wanted to see how he was doing, I heard he'd been having some issues.''

''He's fine. That's nice of you to ask. What kind of issues did you hear he was having?''

''Ummm...just some family issues. I just wanted to say hello and to let him know I was thinking of him.''

''Well he's outside...I'll let him know you called.'' **click**

I'm worried b/c if he was staying w/ a friend, wouldn't they be aware of the ''situation''? Now I'm worried that we may be getting him in more trouble by calling him........ I honestly believe that was his mother...I'm wondering if his parents confiscated his phone from him.

Does anyone else have any updates as of right now?

I think the worst thing we can do is beseige him with phone calls and texts right now. It's obvious he hasnt' got his phone!! And his parents or whoever is 'watching' him are monitoring him. It will probably only add weight to the case that is being built against him.

I appreciate everyone wanting to get involved, but isn't it the wise course to keep quiet and let him get on with things!

Many of you know him better than I, but I would have to suggest to back off of him. I'm sure he will appreciate the support, but I'm sure he's under an enormous amount of strain right now.

I know how I get when I'm busy, under stress, and people keep texting me and calling me.

he is probably under elder advised lockdown.. take away his priveleges such as phone/ internet etc.

my feeling is the phone calls should stop for now because he obviously doesnt have his phone.

email him and pm him , he knows where to check when he's able to get online.

Oh I just hate this! It's making me nervous as hell!!! I remember going through the same thing (sans the book issue)...and it SUCKS!!!!

I need a beer....I'm sure poor Richie needs about 20...

Also remember this site is being monitored... so they are aware that the people that are phoning him are not who they say they are.. and I know this thread is 'private' but it's not difficult to become a member.

The point is, nobody seems to be getting to talk to him anyway, just to his parents, it appears he is still watching the threads so we can show our support that way!

Just my 2 cents, I dont know him either, but I do know about the 'mob' reaction, they are currently closing ranks.

Following the story with much interest and in awe of his balls of steel..
