The Due Time has Arrived !!!

The term 'generation' can mean a number of time frames. It can refer to the time from the birth of one generation to the birth of the next, which is about 20 years. Or it can mean a life-span. The Society used the Psalms to determine the length of a life-span to calculate the "Last Generation" in making its case that 70 years from 1914 would put us at the threshold of 1975.

Psalm 90:10 says, "The days of our years are threescore years and ten [70 years]; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years [80 years], yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away."

Assuming that the Society is correct in taking an old Jewish song as authority to determine a life-span, then what do we have?

Example: 1914 + 80 years ended in 1994. So, the last generation was Biblically gone 11 years ago.

What about the pre-1935 Anointed generation who are not mere replacements? Assuming a person could be of the age of reason and be anointed by age 10, then they would have been born no later than 1925 ... you know, just about the time Abraham and the other prophets were to be resurrected and live at Beth Sarim in San Diego. The numbers fit so well.

1925 + 80 years ends in 2005. This means that the last of the original pre-1935 Anointed are now dead by Watchtower reasoning - albeit - there are some hold-outs still alive serving on the Hovering Body. These were known by Watchtower prophecy as the Mordicai Class (named after the old prophetic geezer in the book of Ester.) Whereas the post-1935 Anointed are prophetically known as the Ester Class (named after the faithful Israeli woman who married a non-believer King because she was told to do so by Mordicai to fulfill some important prophecy that no one today really knows about.)

The Due Time has Arrived for the Society to address this big hole in one of their last false doctrines. It will prove interesting to see just how they spin this one ... I expect something from them anytime soon, just around the corner. I hope it is juicy, as I can't take another "UN NGO library card" style excuse. Rather, I hope they put their little creative minds together and find some obscure prophetic statement that allows them to wiggle out of this one.

I thought that the due time was 587 + 2520 year = 1934 + 70 years = 2004. That didn't happen so that means that 587 was not the destruction of Jerusalem.

    hehe, 587.

What about the Jonadabs? How is their time line looking Jim? Wasn't it promised to them that they would never die?

What, then, is the "generation" so frequently referred to by Jesus in the presence of his disciples? What did they understand by his words: "This generation will by no means pass away until all these things occur"? Surely, Jesus was not departing from his established use of the term "this generation," which he consistently applied to the contemporary masses with their "blind guides" who together made up the Jewish nation. (Matthew 15:14) "This generation" experienced all the distress foretold by Jesus and then passed away in an unequaled "great tribulation" on Jerusalem.?Matthew 24:21, 34.

    19

In the first century, Jehovah was judging the Jewish people. Repentant ones, who came to exercise faith in Jehovah?s merciful provision through Christ, were saved out of that "great tribulation." True to Jesus? words, all things prophesied occurred, and then the "heaven and earth" of the Jewish system of things?the entire nation, with its religious leaders and wicked society of people?passed away. Jehovah had executed judgment!?Matthew 24:35; compare 2 Peter 3:7.

    20

Those Jews who had paid attention to Jesus? prophetic words realized that their salvation depended, not on trying to calculate the length of a "generation" or of some dated "times or seasons," but on keeping separate from the evil contemporary generation and zealously doing God?s will. Though the final words of Jesus? prophecy apply to the major fulfillment in our day, first-century Jewish Christians also had to heed the admonition: "Keep awake, then, all the time making supplication that you may succeed in escaping all these things that are destined to occur, and in standing before the Son of man."?Luke 21:32-36; Acts 1:6-8.

    21

Today, "the great day of Jehovah . . . is near, and there is a hurrying of it very much." (Zephaniah 1:14-18; Isaiah 13:9, 13) Suddenly, at Jehovah?s own predetermined "day and hour," his fury will be unleashed upon the world?s religious, political, and commercial elements, together with the wayward people who make up this contemporary "wicked and adulterous generation." (Matthew 12:39; 24:36; Revelation 7:1-3, 9, 14) How may you get saved out of "the great tribulation"? Our next article will answer and tell of the grand hope for the future.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Brilliant!!

The "generation" so firmly touted as those who had seen 1914 is no more.

The new "generation" is simply the one YOU are in, the "contemporary" generation.

I still don't know any witness who can clearly explain this one.

The GB bought themselves some time by removing that handy marker, but it has taken its toll on the zeal of the rank and file.

Many are realizing that according to this New Light, they may die in this system of things before the Big A comes. I've seen a good deal of JWs in their 30s and 40s going .

Part of a talk given at Copps Colisseum in Hamilton, Ontario just last week (one of those extra meetups by invitation only ) stressed how we "are in the end" and the prophecies are being fulfilled. There was far less chatter about how encouraging this talk was from the usual tripe, which I think bodes ill for the WTS.

Quote from Watchtower August 1st 2023 (Quarterly US and European Edition)

    "Not misled by the past"

"In recent times some of Jehovah's people have made reference to 1914 as being of some biblical significance! In their eagerness to see the Kingdom Work fulfilled they have speculated that somehow 'the faithful and discreet slave' has in the past promoted this date as being tied in with Bible prophecy. How foolish!

True, some over zealous brothers in the mid to late twentieth century indicated that this may be the case, however 'the faithful slave' has at all times 'kept on the watch' (insert out of context scripture here), not knowing the 'day or hour'. We always strive to be 'cautious as sperpents and as innocent as doves'.

How happy we as Jehovah's People are that we are not slavishly bound to some date, but rather spread the good news as Christ's faithful followers!"

Just you watch, 20 years from now they'll be printing stuff like this.
