Confronted with "apathy=(people not intersted in JW, bla, bla). The Watchtower has the solution. Heard about a tragedy somewhere lately? Why not exploit this tragedy to its fullest?

Granting that apathy is a challenge, let us examine our attitude toward those to whom we preach. Why are they indifferent? One reason for the widespread apathy in parts of Europe, for instance, is the deplorable record of false religion. People no longer feel that religion has a place in their lives, nor do they want anything to do with it. We need to be flexible, talking to people about matters that do affect them, such as unemployment, health, crime, intolerance, the environment, and the threat of war.

Sure, tell them that the “Kingdom” will solve all those problems with:” unemployment, health, crime, intolerance, the environment, and the threat of war”. But don’t tell them how, they might not think it is such a great idea that unemployment, health problems and crime will be gone because all the unemployed, sick and the criminals will all be dead.

In our opening words to a householder, we might mention an item of local interest. That is what Dietmar tried to do when he was preaching in a village where he was having little success. One resident mentioned that the village had experienced a tragedy the day before. At every door thereafter, Dietmar expressed sincere regret over the tragedy. "Suddenly, the people started talking," he said. "The tragedy was on everyone's mind. I had many fine conversations that day because I showed interest in their lives."

Yes, it is amazing what a little fake regret can do when you want to weasel some Watchtower bilge in under the guard of the householder. So in order to sell your tripe, fake some interest, as if you actually care about all those goats getting their comeuppance in Armageddon, any day now.

    Norm:

Jehovah and the Kingdom seem to be the panacea for all ills in Dubville. Although, one can't see any concrete evidence that Jehovah and news of the unbiblical JW Kingdom does any more for JWs than anyone else. In fact, the reverse seems to be true, they suffer on average from less education, less mental and emotional health, less income, more fear, more guilt, and more paranoia. Jehovoh sure seems to love "his people."
