The WTS: Forsake all others before me!

I contend that the WTS is it's own god. It is Jehovah! And it tests the loyalty of its worshiper all the time. Forget what it claims, think of what it requires.

Total obedience, you must believe all its teaching. And when these teachings change you must except the change...without question!

You must put your trust in them. They are your salvation. No one gets saved unless they are in subjection to the WTS!

You must forsake all others before them. Even children are not above being sacrificed before them on the alter of loyalty! You must be faithful to them even when, ( and notice I did not say if) they prove unfaithful to you.

They are a vengeful lord, and are eager to cast out any opposers!

Guilt, lies, and false hope are their tools! And they are a jealous god. How dare you buy anything for yourself when you could give them your time and money!

And they are a weak and cowardly god! They are not above slander and gossip to harm any who dare expose them.

Care to expose any more traits of this "paper god"? Maverick

I don't know if you saw Enterprise last week, but it was eerily like the Borg. The Enterprise comes upon a group of people who worship "The Makers", who created all these spheres. This group was at war with another group. Why? Because the one group said that the spheres were made in 9 days, the other group said that The Makers made them in 10 days.

Naturally there was the Top Spiritual Leader who proclaimed to have a direct connection with The Makers. When one of the younger guys in his group voiced his concern about all the killing they were doing in order to promote "The Truth", the Spriitual Leader says to him:

"Do you believe that The Makers work through ME?"

    "Yes"

"Then you must realize that when you question me, you are questioning The Makers. There's a word for that. It's called 'heresy'"

Does this sound frigging familiar or what??!! I was just waiting for the younger guy to be disfellowshipped..................

Although the storyline message was definitely aimed at Muslim terrorists, I most definitely saw a strong message for religions like the Watchtower who like to insist that they and they alone have "the Truth."

Mary, I saw that Enterprise episode. I was floored by the similarities to JW land. I wondered allowed if the writer was an x-JW.

    Weird.

I saw it also, it seems so eery to us, yet I imagine to many "normal" people it must seem illogical that anyone could think like that.

Damn! I missed it! I love that show!

So I guess I'm not too far off the mark on this? Maverick

    Maverick,

Your post correctly underscores the idolatrous loyalty exacted by the Watchtower organization. When they say "Jehovah", they mean their organization. (As in, "you left Jehovah". Or, "come back to Jehovah".)

If you were to try to go back to a God named Jehovah but without help from their religion, you wouldn't REALLY be going back to Jehovah in their opinion.
