Okay, it's really 1974, but that doesn't mean anything to ex-Dubs! The Left Behind series is popular these days, but the concept is hardly new. In the early 70s a bloke named Salem Kirban began capitalising on the new "pre-millennial" fervour whipped up by Hal Lindsey. The following pic is from p.44 of his book, What In The World WIll Happen Next?, published 1974.

What to do to prevent your loved ones being left behind to face the wrath of God during the Great Tribulation? (Dubs were experiencing similar fear for their loved ones facing Armageddon in 1975) It's easy! Just "donate" to Salem's worldwide work!:

The artwork does not make any sense. What happened to the child's tricycle? I mean, the woman left her laundry behind, right?

I went to a drama in one of the local churches(the old general office for Fieldcrest Mills where I retired from) and it was a good acting job but the idea(left behind story) they presented was ridiculous.

They bought the old office and made a big church out of it, most of the doctors, lawyers and rich people go there.

Good catch on the tricycle, Jim! You must really have behaved like an ass when god chooses to "save" an inanimate object ahead of you.

Maybe if that man had mowed the lawn a little earlier like the wifey had asked him- he'd be floating into the heavenly abyss too. That's what you get for dodging the John Deere.

Hey Jim, women when they make it to heaven don't have to do laundry anymore.

    that's what men are for
