  Anybody remember this song? It sums up how I have been feeling of late.

  I had been content for a while, live and let live ect., but recent events in my life have dredged up the lower areas of my inner compost heap. Between over zealous christian friends and aquaintences, a thread here--my reaction to which surprises me--and other minor events, it seems that it is time to turn the pile once again and let it all get aired out.

  I know how you feel DarkUncle. There was a time back when I was still a witness that I utterly hated God. However, time passes, you learn more, and things do start to look up again, even though your past hopes may have vanished (or rather, changed form).

  Enishi, I don't exactly hate "God", just the CONCEPT that we have been taught is god. I do hate how people stick to it so doggedly and fight over their opinions of God, and judge others for not having the same view of God. I am all for agreeing to disagree, but if I told you "You're going to die because YOU do not believe in God" that would be unaceptable. One of the subtle implications of that statement is "You don't believe in MY god" therefore "MY god is going to destroy you"

  I think of the taught concept of god as being along the same line of "there is no spoon"

  I am not attacking a person's right to free will, even the right to hold beliefs. What does concern me and irritate me is when people hold beliefs and do not see even the possibility of a broader view. IMHO, to hold onto a view as "Precious" sets the stage for emotional/mental inbalance. Yes, Gollum inspired my use of the word "precious" there.
