my dad the jw is in florida, and i was asking him about the wt orange farm in florida. how much they ship to bethel . and how much they sell on the open market, and were is the wt orange farm in fla. . i don't know much about this. all he said was the jw's need to eat. and i said they treat the jw's there like slaves and pay them $50 A MONTH , LIKE $1.25 AN HOUR . any info on this would be of help. like were the farm is and how much they sell on the open market etc. thanx john

Florida's Watchtower Farm is near Lehigh Acres -- just east of Fort Meyers. I believe the going wage for Bethelites is $100 per month plus food and board. I don't know if the WT Farms workers in Florida follow that same scale, but I'd guess they do.
Do they really sell some of the WT-grown produce on the open market? That'd surprise me. But then again, the WTS is full of surprises.

Each year the congs from around the state send volunteers for the priviledge of picking the oranges for free. Woo Hoo. I never volunteered. I was a bad JW.
I never heard anything about selling the surplus. I always thought it was all sqeezed and bottled for juice.
