is this your first time getting baptized? I was kind of confused as to why I was asked this but never asked anyone. Any ideas???

Yes I was asked this as well. The reason is because after some were DFd and then came back they felt they did not take their baptism seriously. Some feel they were too young, or did so for the wrong reasons. Since Baptism is an outward symbol to others of your dedication to "god," some have felt the need to do this publicly a second time. Only those being baptized jW for the FIRST time are recorded in the statistics.

Perhaps they ask the question to see if you need the "water" baptism or the "fire" baptism. Since the scriptures require both, they want to subject you to the "fire" of baptism of fear and coersion which comes after the love bombing and the water dipping.

I got asked that and said "no"!!!! When the elder laughed he explained that he meant " Was it the first time being baptized as a JW."
